Overview

A study will be conducted of overseas tourists visiting Hiroshima in order to enhance convenience for travelers and their ease of getting around town. Each participant of this study will have their personal information (e.g., native language, accessibility needs, dietary requirements, and allergies) stored on PASPY, a transit system IC smart card issued in Hiroshima Prefecture. Based on the personal information obtained, tourism-related service providers will then verify whether their service systems properly meet the individual needs of each participant.

*Only tourists from abroad can participate in this study, which will be carried out in English. Every participant must purchase the Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass (Wide Area), a 3-day excursion ticket issued exclusively for travelers from overseas.

Special benefits for participants

★Each group of participants can choose their favorite travel plan out of the 9 different plans prepared, all of which provide them with great opportunities to experience the beauty and rich culture of Hiroshima. All destinations are located within the valid zones of the Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass (Wide Area). All experience programs included in those plans (e.g., a visit to a sake brewery, a hands-on Japanese cuisine cooking class, a contemplative Zen experience, and activities in the snow-covered countryside) will be offered free of charge to the participants.

★From the bus terminal closest to their destination, each group of participants will board a chartered taxi.

★Once they reach their destinations, participants will receive services specifically tailored to their needs.

Be one of the first to explore the hidden side of Hiroshima that is not included in guidebooks!
